Cheryl Melton of Decatur, a native of DeKalb County Ga, died December 30th from ARDS. She was preceded in death by her father, Ira Bailey Melton Jr.. She is survived by her forever partner Meleia Harrison Melton, her son Ira Bailey Melton lll, her mother Barbara Melton and her husband Gene Johnson, her sisters Virginia Melton, Ann Melton Sarubbi, her brother-in-law Scott Sarubbi, her nephew Jared Sarubbi and his wife Shannon, her nieces Bailey and Lilly, her in-laws the Harrison family, and the extended Armstrong and Melton families. In addition to family, she will be missed by her many friends; once made, kept forever. Cheryl's passion was her career in the green industry. Her dream came true with Intown Wholesale Nursery. Cheryl emulated her father in every way. She was happiest with her pants rolled up, feet in the creek, fishing pole in hand, her son Ira by her side, identifying plants. She loved fiercely, gave of herself generously, showed extraordinary kindness to everyone, and was always the great entertainer. No matter what anyone needed, Cheryl was there for them. Anytime, anywhere. Words simply can't express how much we will all miss her. The world is a smaller place without her. We will love you to infinity! In lieu of flowers, Cheryl would have appreciated donations made to the Georgia Native Plant Society. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Kathy Burton officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 2, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at A. S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home & Crematory.
