Leslie Moon Waites, age 56, of Jackson died Tuesday, April 2, 2019.

Originally in the Redan Class of 1980. Leslie Moon Waites, age 56, of Jackson died Tuesday, April 2, 2019. As a teenager, she was an avid softball player at Rock Chapel ballpark and a 1980 graduate of Rockdale County High School. Leslie worked for many years at First Bank of Henry County and later for the Georgia Bureau of Investigation as a forensic auditor. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, visiting the mountains, eating out, and going to the movies with her daughter, Lexie. She was a very talented lady who enjoyed singing gospel songs and recorded many albums. Leslie was preceded in death by her mother, Georgia Ann Moon and her sister, Kim Moon. A loving wife, mother and daughter, she is survived by her husband of almost 37 years, Mark Waites of Jackson; daughter, Lexie Waites of Jackson; father, Charles Moon; brother, Jason Moon; and niece, Jessica Whitley. A funeral service will be held 11 o’clock, Saturday, April 6, at Sardis Baptist Church, 2120 Keys Ferry Rd., McDonough with remains placed in state at 10:30 o'clock. Pastor Tommy Kennedy will officiate the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8, Friday, April 5, at Henry Funeral Home
