So many fond memories of Redan and the Redan Band....I think back on those those days quie often. The sacrifice and hard work of the charter class laid the groundwork for what was to become one of Georgia's best and most comprehnsive music programs in the early and mid 80s. My Redan days were by far the most rewarding of my entire music career.

One standout story of among many is the Redan Marching Band's participation at the 1976 DeKalb Marching Festival. After being in school just about 6 weeks and marching in nothing but jeans and baseball-style T-Shirts, the 30 or so members of that first marching band (dubbed DeKalb's "Baby Band" that year) performed first on the program and received a standing ovation. What a thrill!
